Cecilia and Xin-ying analysed and gave comments on the development of entertainment career of Hong Kong and mainland in the past. Prediction also included. I believe they can give inspiration to Wei-wei.
In the book 'Clicking Vicki Zhao', Vicki Zhao's schedule has planned to 2004. I'm not sure that's the mistake of printing, or fact, but I hope it's true. Wei and her parents told us this news and made us not to worry about her entertainment career. (I think it's the media's fault to say Vicki Zhao's swinging thinking for HZGGIII, Wei-wei didn't say she wouldn't film it. It may be in her schedule already)
2004 is quite far from now! We hard to predict the future, but I believe Wei-wei's potential could bring her good result, for example win a Golden Hen Award something.
Vicki Zhao's Potential:
Vicki Zhao's potential comes from her talent, hardworking and fans. Some 'old' fans may leave her, but 'new' fans will join in as Wei-wei becoming mature.
For the evaluation of several stars of the year 2000, I just agree part of it as some were just one-sided opinion. For Wei-wei, year 2000 was fruitful. First, she could see herself more clearly, adjust her footsteps and prepare for the future. She left the media, the audience and concentrate on her career and her roles. It can be said she went to a higher level after becoming famous.
Conclusion Of The Year 2000:
1.Wei-wei graduated with excellent result. It changed the minds of many people, that too much filming and activities would affect her study. Many experts (included in dissertation seminar) had more understanding on her, knowing the famous not came from her beautiful face. We believe Wei could make excellent acting as she gained great results in her dissertation.
2.Audience can distinguish who is Swallow and who is Vicki Zhao.
3.Wei-wei gained the support of media. We all know all the things that she burdened by the media. But now, media had changed their ways in treating her, though some people still talked some old news. I think it's her biggest gain.
4.Wei-wei is accepted professionally: The Beijing Filming Academy treated Vicki Zhao as the best schoolmate, it meant the school and the experts accepted her. Vicki Zhao sat with Guo-li Zhang showed the movie area also accepted Wei-wei! Now Wei-wei just waiting for a good movie. Combine with the acceptance of experts and her academic result, it's easy to gain any awards.
Therefore, 2000 was great on her good result, in the next year she will get her good return and start her career.
Her fans are stable, so she can take part in art films freely. She doesn't have to worry nobody would watch and the result was not good. So I'm happy as many directors want her to take part in art films.
She has the personalities to act for art movies, same as Maggie Cheung suitable for acting art movies. I believe everyone agree Wei's love movies are the most touchable. She would be successful if she acts art movies.
I think the analysis by Cecilia was just for commercial movies. This kind of movies will not disappear as it's for the freshmen, but Wei-wei has to film art movies for her position and great audience.
Therefore, I have confidence on Wei-wei.
Wei-wei can have different appearance, but she is suitable for pure and fresh looks. I think she couldn't act as Zi-yi Zhang's before 30 (I mean the sexual scene).
I remember a reporters said, Vicki Zhao is a girl that crystal-clear, pure likes water. So she is suitable for various art movies.
