Frankly, I did not dare to admit liking Zhao Wei before, because after the 'HuanZhu II' has finished, there were a lot of newspapers and magazines criticizing 'Zhao Wei phenomenon' was abnormal. There were endless voices criticizing her, and even many people, many journalists criticized those who liked Zhao Wei were naive and immature. Therefore, I liked Zhao Wei with little feeling.
Later, I started surfing on the Internet, collecting more information about Zhao Wei, and reading more comments on her. My attitude changed gradually. I loved Zhao Wei more and more. I let her be the first and the only idol in my life. I think many fans share the same feelings as I do. When I saw the words criticizing Zhao Wei and her fans, I felt aching and helpless; I felt powerless when I saw the messages
posted by those who insisted on reviling Zhao Wei. Zhao Wei said that she trained herself by reading the messages on the Internet. Her fans also did that, didn't they? I think few idols let their fans in so many criticisms like Zhao Wei did. Her fans' pains cannot be expressed in words. Watching her fans continuing their fights against the anti-Wei group, I could feel their discontent, their perseverant willpower, and their deep emotion. Why? Why we have to face so much censure for loving Wei? Why we are under the pressure of stupidity and foolishness for loving Wei?
Many anti-Wei people say that Zhao Wei is no good, hence why you fans love her so? I am not saying that she is the best in her fans' heart. Let me talk about her defects. Zhao Wei is maybe not beautiful, not good in acting, not wise, and maybe not affable, but there is no paragon in the world. Why not a person with weakness be loved? Do the relatives and friends of those anti-Wei people all have both beauty and wisdom? Are they affable and popular paragons? Frankly, I have never thought Zhao Wei to be perfect. She has exposed a number of censurable defects in front of the media and the public. But I like such an imperfect girl, because she makes me feel real, because she is as amiable as a close friend or a girl of my neighborhood. Her fans like her, like her merits and accept her defects just as they do to their close relatives and friends. They also like her often admitting her imperfection to the media and to them, and assuring that she will make efforts to improve to the best for those friends who like her. It is not a waste to love such an imperfect but genuine girl who frequently considers for those who love her; at least I think so. She deserves my love.
Some anti-Wei people say that Zhao Wei's appearance is not good, and her acting is not good either, so she should not be an actor at all to make them sick. I do not agree. Acting is a kind of career, which
Zhao Wei likes, chooses, and aspires to do well in. Maybe her achievements are not the best, but I think it is not easy for everyone to do the best in his/her own career. Why we are tolerant to ourselves but
excoriate Zhao Wei? Before shooting 'HuanZhu', Zhao Wei made efforts as every other average actor in her own manner. She attended The XinJin Stardom School, applied for college after graduating from a secondary normal school, studied hard in school, and acquired more abilities to improve her acting. Actually, before her fame in 'HuanZhu', she had been an actress, and had acted protagonist. This showed that she was affirmed by some directors and audience, right? If she had not gained fame in 'HuanZhu', she would also continue this career that she liked, and would also be active on screen. Even if she acted a minor role, she was willing to work and tried hard. I believe that such Zhao Wei would be even happier than now. But 'HuanZhu' gave her fame. Letting her from an unheard little actress to a well-known star almost in a night. From then on, she can act heroines, choose script, cooperate with famous directors, star in high-cost movies, and even develop her career in music, movie and TV. What a chance that many actors dream of! Now she has the chance, and what do you expect her to do? To
give up? How can you hope that an enlisted man wishing to become a general to stay in the current situation forever? How can you make a social-climbing worker to give up the precious chance of becoming a director or a manager? Maybe she is not competent enough, or maybe her level is not high enough, but why cannot we give her a chance to try?
Why cannot she grasp a so hard-won chance? After these two years, Zhao Wei's achievements were approved by a lot of audience and professionals. That proved her capability, didn't they? Certainly, some still do not treat those as achievements, regarding her roles as repeatedly ordinary. But I think that this is only a matter of perspective: Even the Oscar Awards is criticized, isn't it? In realities, what we tried hard to do cannot satisfy everyone, but Zhao Wei's achievements have to be seen and reviewed by so many people.
The anti-Wei people may not have seen Zhao Wei's endeavors, but the fans that love Wei cannot shut their eyes. During the shooting of 'HuanZhu', in order to shoot the tactless martial arts of Little Swallow,
she had to be hoisted in the air everywhere. The audience saw her as funny and maybe silly, but she was black and blue, which left the rooted illness of nosebleed. Few people mentioned that she was
systematically allergic, that she suffered from severe bleeding pus from the ears, almost hearing nothing, that she was so fatigued that she fell asleep during dressing, that she was so sleepy that she fell from the stairs unconsciously (When the trope found that she was missing, they went back to find her, but they could not wake her up. They could do nothing but to lift her up to the car and let her sleep until they arrived at the site.), and that when her mother came to see her daughter, she could not help crying every day seeing that Zhao Wei was so tired because she was off duty in the midnight and got up and started dressing on 3 or 4 o'clock before dawning. When 'Love & Rain' was shot, she seldom slept. Her eyes were swollen but she insisted on shooting crying scenarios. She acted in the rain from 10 to 4 in the next morning when the temperature was less than 10 centigrade. She acted and wrote her thesis at the same time, facing the pressures of the gossip that Zhao Wei could not wrote a good thesis; she finally wrote her thesis well and gained high scores. In order to shoot the ugly character in 'ShaoLin Soccer', she got up and dressed at 1 every day and worked until 8. Although the shooting of 'Sunset Angel' has not started yet, she got bruises all over her body while practicing martial arts. Some said that she starred in so many movies for money, but what you did not know was that she only spent about 20 dollars per day, preferring simple food and plain T-shirts and jean pants. I do not know any reason not to love such a positive girl. Please do not say such brutal words as "She asked for the troubles", unless you have not struggled for your ideals and your bright future.
Fans love Wei so, laughing for her and suffering for her. Wei and her fans did nothing that offense the gods. They only do what they like but they have to endure a number of censures. There are certainly
children and students who have not achieved, but some sayings scolding Wei's fans are rather brutal. Is there anyone who was not young and naive? Is there anyone who never experienced failure?
Are Wei's fans with poor educational background mean bad?
I cannot help asking how noble those who abuse Wei and her fans are?
Maybe some Wei's fans are complete losers, and maybe some are ridiculous, but they are as equal "Homo Sapiens" as you are. There are complete losers and ridiculous people in the world. Those who abuse Wei's fans as stupid, naive and useless, even though you are superior in living, studying and working, how can you disdain and hurt the inferior? Without these weak groups of people that you think ridiculous, how to reflect you're superior? What I do not understand is why you cannot have more tolerance and forgiveness, and instead of discrimination against education, weakness and failure? Such phenomenon is about some ones treating a star and her fans in their own country. Ironically, such phenomenon happened in our socialist country seeking equality for everyone.
I am an ordinary person, with ordinary education and ordinary history. I did not do anything to hurt people; I only do good things within my power, trying to be a virtuous person. So ordinary as I am, I did
not speak on the Internet, let alone admitted that I was one of the Wei's fans. But the various messages on the Internet made me realizing that contradictory opinions always exist. Those messages also give me confidence in walking my own way regardless what others say, and what others think. Zhao Wei is not a giant, but she makes me realize that I should fight for my ideals, that I should be tolerate to people,
and that I should face my life optimistically. She is worth to love so that I do say "I am a Wei's fan; I feel lucky that I am a Wei's fan."
