It was already midnight 1am. My father, mother and brother were still sitting in front of the TV watching VCD. Finished watching the part where Ke-yun found her memories. Next Shu-huan would be quarreling with Yi-ping over Meng-ping's matter. I couldn't bear to watch any longer, so I walked to
the computer to write down some of my thoughts.
I saw a net friend's message saying Ru-ping and Yi-ping is Ruby and Vicki's real portrayal in life. I felt this was well said. The filming of the love scenes in Nanjing seemed to appear in front of my eyes. I felt that what artists portrayed in front of the camera was their acting skills, but behind the camera it was character. Just to clarify, before that my feeling for the four main roles was as same as before because I was not into chasing stars. But after getting in touch, I knew who was worth my love and support.
For the comments below I can't say I did not add my own feelings, yet it is definitely impartial and fair because I did not create something out of nowhere nor exaggerate. The reason I would like to include my personal feelings could be illustrated by the one sentence Yi-ping said: 'Since I have already seen, I can't treat it as I did not see; Since I have already heard, I can't treat it as I did not hear.'
Lets talk about Vicki first. In Nanjing the crew filmed mainly about war scenes for approximately 10 days. For instance, Ru-ping went in search of Shu-huan in Sui Yuan, Ru-ping met Du-fei at the battlefield etc. But Vicki's appearance was not many as she only took part in the most passionate scene
where she hugged Shu-huan at the train station. The crew came to Nanjing in a confidential state, only the hotel put up a banner written 'Kindly Welcome "Love & Rain"' on the first day. Regardless of this, their arrival has attracted fans. From that day onwards, the entrance of the hotel would be filled with fans around shouting for Vicki once the sun began to set down.
On the second day, the hotel was forced to keep away the banner. Vicki is a very warm hearted and adorable girl. Be it her inner or outer self, there is no sign of hypocrisy or ostentation. Opposite the hotel was a fruits supermarket. She bought things at the fruits supermarket frequently. No doubts, when she entered the supermarket she was recognized, and there would be disorder. Once the products in the supermarket almost toppled due to the crowd. If she managed to spare some time she would autograph for the people, with her friendly smile and continuous word of thanks. From my observation,
about 50% of the fans upon seeing Vicki and only said her name, would start to cry in agitation. Most of the fans were students. Whenever Vicki finished her autographing, she would add some encouraging words tenderly, like asking them go back earlier and work hard, touching everyone's heart. It can be
said that Vicki gave the most autograph among the artists.
The most moving scene was when filming the last show. The last shot when Shu-huan and Yi-ping finally saw each other again was taken in the afternoon. During noon the crew were having box lunch, but Vicki put hers aside instead, trying to give the group of auxiliary casts her signature. Her signatures were many. The group of auxiliary casts included secondary and university students. As Vicki continued to sign she told them not to push but to take turns slowly, always saying Thank You. She did not eat a mouth of rice. Many people, including some university male students were all so touched that tears kept rolling down their cheeks. I remembered one boy whose eyes were red told the people around him that from then onwards if anyone still dared to humiliate or talked bad about Vicki he would
react defensively. I was so emotional then and felt like there was a hard lump in my throat. Now I think back, this words really sound like He Shu-huan.
At that time Ye Mao Qing was still Vicki's protector. He spent most of his time with Vicki. Truthfully he was not bad looking, rather tall gentleman. Unfortunately Vicki and him were separated now. But for a girl like Yi-ping, there is a He Shu-huan who loves her, and for a girl like Vicki there will always be countless He Shu-huan who loves her. There is you and I, isnt it?
