The 12th Chinese Music Billboard Event held by Channel V was held on 11 Jan 2006 evening, and Zhao Wei obtained 2 major awards: China’s Most Popular Female Singer, and China’s Most Popular Music Video awards.
At the cocktail reception before the event proper, several female artistes wowed the crowd with their sexy outfits. Zhao Wei was dressed in a green dress, and although it was not a revealing outfit, she continued to capture the attention of the media.
Zhao Wei won 2 awards that evening, namely for China’s Most Popular Music Video for the song ‘I and Shang Guan Yan’ (literally translated), and China’s Most Popular Female Singer. She was ecstatic to have won both awards, and when asked which award she preferred, Zhao Wei replied that both awards are meaningful, and she had no preference.
