On 22 Feb afternoon, Zhao Wei’s official website was officially set up under Sohu Entertainment. Zhao Wei was very excited about her new ‘home’, and hoped that she would be able to know more friends via the platform, as well as share her views and life experiences.
The website, designed by a group of professionals in Sohu Entertainment, contained information about Zhao Wei’s career since she first entered the entertainment industry. It also included all latest news, exclusive photos and all her acting and music assignments. In addition, a section for Zhao Wei to add her own thoughts and a discussion forum were added to the website. Fans of Zhao Wei would be able to get the latest news about her from this website, and Zhao Wei has promised that she would communicate with her fans via the website no matter how busy her schedule is.
Zhang Chaoyang welcomes Zhao Wei to Sohu Entertainment
On the official opening ceremony, Sohu company director cum chief executive officer Mr Zhang Chaoyang activated the website together with Zho Wei. At the ceremony, he expressed his opinion of Zhao Wei, “Little Swallow is a lively, brave and passionate person. I always felt that she’s a very adorable lady.” Mr Zhang added that Sohu Entertainment would utilize the latest IT technologies to maintain Zhao Wei’s website, adding “Welcome Zhao Wei to set up her home at Sohu Entertainment.”
Zhao Wei hopes to get to know more friends
Zhao Wei was very excited about her new official website. “I’m very happy that I can have this platform for communicate. In the past, whenever I go online to chat with my fans, I would cause the website to ‘hang’. Now, such things won’t happen anymore. I hope to write my own thoughts via this website, chat with friends, discuss the music I like, as well as share some of my opinions and life experiences. I’m sure such a feeling would be interesting.” Zhao Wei affirmed that she had every intention to ensure that her new home would be properly maintained.
Hopes her own directing projects would not be shallow and boring
The opening ceremony also showcased some highlights of Zhao Wei’s career, and the media as well as Zhao Wei herself were shown brief shots of her ten-year foray in the entertainment industry so far. When asked about her plans for 2008, Zhao Wei claimed that she had many plans and projects, but could only reveal them when the time is right. She also commented that she had been preparing for her final year project (a movie directed by herself), but had not finalized the details. However, she had set this benchmark, “I hope that it would not be a boring and shallow movie.”
Zhao Wei is the second artiste after Zhang Ziyi to have her official website under Sohu Entertainment.
