On may 12th, the Nirvana of the earth torn apart the hearts of billions of people...
The sound of children reading aloud suddenly stopped. countless frightened eyes witnessed the arrival of disaster, but were unable to escape. Life seemed so fragile when confronted with major disaster.
All that were fine and beautiful disappeared in an instant.
On the very night the quake hit, China Children and Teenagers' Fund (abbreviated as CCTF thereafter) established the "Post Earthquake Relief and Reconstruction Fund (FERRF) for Sichuan, China". News concerning the children were followed closely by everybody, and never a moment was CCTF's donation hotline idle.
Even though celebrity Zhao Wei was located on the set of a tv production, deep down, her thoughts were with the children in the disaster region! She shed so much tears while following special reports in the news that she was unable to focus on her work.
On May 27th, CCTF received RMB$500,000 from Zhao Wei, sent from the production set for the purpose of building a Spring Bud School. Even though everything happened quietly, it was stimulating and inspiring for the children of the disaster regions.
Over the phone, Zhao Wei expressed to CCTF her wishes and hopes for the children in the disaster regions. She said, "To the children who were saved and escaped from the disaster, no matter what you lost, please don't be afraid! We will help heal your wounds, and together, let's continue with the roads ahead..."
CCTF's first Safe & Healthy Home will officially open on June 1st. The details of the Safe & Healthy Growth Project (commonly known as the Enkon Project) include: donate RMB$4000 per year to sponsor a child in need in the disaster region; donate RMB$10,000 to build a "Safe & Healthy Home" for a household in the disaster region; donate RMB$100,000 to build a "Post Disaster Trauma Counseling Mobile Classroom"; donate RMB$500,000 to build a Spring Bud School.
The Spring Bud School that Zhao Wei donated is currently in the planning stage. Zhao Wei expressed that in the future, she will frequent the disaster region to visit these strong and adorable children. Through her communications with the children, she hope to help build their confidence in life and give them hopes for the future!
CCTF would like to take the opportunity to appeal to more people to help create a healthy environment for the growth of the children in the disaster region, so that these children can promptly come out of the shadows of yesterday, and put on a smile that's genuinely from their hearts.
