Zhao Wei: Chiling Lin is more beautiful

“Luckily I have a positive attitude. She is more beautiful; her attires are better than mine. It’s ok. I’m fine with it.”
Zhao Wei made the comments during the press conference of [Red Cliff] in Chengdu. The ‘she’ Zhao Wei is saying, refers to Taiwan’s Number 1 Beauty, Chiling Lin. Chiling also stars as ‘Xiao Qiao’ in [Red Cliff]. And the media were all fielding questions, comparing the actresses’ beauty in the movie.
The conversation between Gan Lu and Zhao Wei are as below:
G: Gan Lu
Z: Zhao Wei
G: We saw you sobbing just now; was it because the movie is finally completed?
Z: All my most touching scenes were filmed on the last day of filming. Hence, I was practically crying from the start of the day until the last scene. Until today, I still don’t know if the relationship between Sun Shangxiang (Zhao Wei’ character) and Dawei’s character of the Cao soldier is friendship or love. Even so, the relationship is very touching.
G: So you’re satisfied with being cast as Sun Shangxiang?
Z: I think it’s a very good experience to be able to participate in [Red Cliff], where you get to discuss about world affairs with so many heroes of the past. I feel that my character is much enriched.
G: How do you feel about Sun Shangxiang? Do you think that you are like her?
Z: I admire her. She is historically, a sad character. She has a reckless and fiery temper, which is even fierier than mine! (laughs) Shangxiang is very brave and clever. She would do anything within her control to try to defend her country. Although I had attempted to make her more lively in this movie, as compared to the manly characters of Zhuge Liang or Zhou Yu, she is nevertheless a passionate lady, who has the guts and determination to pursue her ideals.
