Three female stars came together for [Painted Skin], Zhao Wei, Zhou Xun, and Sun Li. A lot of interesting stories happened while these three female celebrities with diversified personalities were together. Zhao Wei was regarded by the staff as the "cheerful treat", while Zhou Xun was seen as the "little spirit" who fooled around, and "Kungfu gal" Sun Li a very dedicated actress.

Zhao Wei portrayed a prestigious madame in [Painted Skin]. Poisedly dressed in glamorous dresses, every move she made was naturally elegant and graceful, if not perfect in every gesture. All the while, Zhou Xun spilled that off the scene, Zhao Wei was one individual packed with comedy effects.
Although it has been 10 years since she portrayed "Little Swallow", Zhao Wei was still a frank and outspoken "Little Swallow", thus becoming the "cheerful treat" of the movie crew. On the set, Chen Kun was discussing the subject of dieting with the director, "I would slim down every time I shoot a production." Zhou Xun also expressed that it was the same case for her.
