Director Daniel Lee gave his own evaluation of Donnie Yen, Zhao Wei, Kate Tsui, and Wu Chun, the leading stars of [14 Blades] for their performance in the movie. The one element in common was that they were "all very dedicated".

Zhao Wei: not only beautiful, but also very "craving-satisfying"
I feel that I should use "crazing-satisfying" to describe Zhao Wei. She's not only beautiful, she is very "craving-satisfying". I find her performance to be superb. Although I have not known Zhao Wei for long, as we had just came to know each other filming this movie, I had already seen many of her works. She dives in with no holding back when delivering a performance, enabling the audience to forget that she was Zhao Wei. Before having collaborated with her, this was the reason that I went for her. I'm very satisfied with the results, her performance was "craving-satisfying".
