Recently, Sina Entertainment's [Red Cliff] official site hosted an online survey about the movie, attracting close to ten thousand participants. Until 12:00 PM on May 5th, a total of 9,514 web users participated in the survey. The survey results show that the most anticipated scene was "borrowing arrows with thatched boats", and the most popular actor and actress were Tony Leung Chiu Wai (portraying Zhou Yu) and Zhao Wei (portraying Sun ShangXiang) respectively.

Close to half of the participants expressed that the large number of celebrities involved was the main reason attracting them to the movie. 42% of the web users stated that with [Red Cliff], their greatest anticipation had to do with the sheer number of celebrities involved in the production. Of all the celebrities participating in the movie, by winning 25% of the popular vote, Zhou Yu's actor Tony Leung Chiu Wai became the most anticipated actorwith 25% of the popular vote and 56% of the audience expressing that John Woo will reinstate the reputation of Zhou Yu, while Sun ShangXiang's actress Zhao Wei became the most anticipated actress with 32% of the popular vote. As for the huge discrepancy in age between Zhou Yu and Tony Leung Chiu Wai, 48% of the web users expressed that "It doesn't matter, I'm here to see celebrities!"

In no way did the fact that the "borrowing arrows with thatched boats" scene is in the second part of the two part movie affect the attractiveness of the scene. Wth 39% support, "borrowing arrows with thatched boats" became the most classic scene that the web users anticipate watching.
