故事梗概

史诗动作巨片《天地英雄》由著名导演何平执导，讲述了一个发生在盛唐时期的大漠边关的传奇故事：戍边校尉李（姜文）因违抗军令，不愿屠杀突厥的俘虏——一些手无寸铁的老人，妇女和孩子而被朝廷通缉，日本遣唐使来栖（中井贵一）因屡请回国而被朝廷贬为捕快，派往西域缉拿逃犯，二人相遇后，一场大战不分胜负，于是相约再战。正在此时，他们迎头碰上了护送经书的朝廷商队、觊觎驼队的响马子安（王学圻）、曾被李所救的将军之女文珠（赵薇），而安的背后，似乎还另有主谋......
一场生死大战就此展开，「问天下谁是英雄？」内心颇有「侠气」的何平导演力图给中外影坛带来一部充满阳刚气和英雄气的巨制。

何导找到我，告诉我他现在准备拍一个名字叫《天地英雄》的电影，我看了剧本知道那是个以男人为主的电影，我个人很欣赏何平导演的作品，同时我知道这部电影有姜文出演，认为跟姜文这样出色的演员合作是一种幸运。我觉得一个好的团队会碰出精彩的火花的。所以我愿意加入这个剧组。我期待着与这个最出色的电影组合合作，我相信这个电影应该是一个非常优秀的作品。

今天我拿到了《天地英雄》的剧本，读剧本时我发现我被深深地吸引住了。这个剧本故事情节丰富，蕴涵着强烈的浪漫英雄主义色彩，气势磅礴。原来我的角色是一个十几岁的小姑娘，后来因为我的加入，导演特地作了调整，我饰演一位将军的女儿，刚柔并济。我不喜欢重复，我喜欢挑战。而且在茫茫的戈壁一待就是几个月，对我也是一种锻炼。我决定参加这个剧组。

我终于来到了新疆，这是跟我以往所在的剧组完全不相同的一个组。这里的环境特别艰苦，但是我发现没有一个人被艰苦吓倒，反而学会了以苦作乐。每天工作结束后，因为没有别的娱乐活动。组里的男人们都会去踢球，扮演来栖的是日本演员中井贵一，他是一个网球好手，大家都很愿意跟他打球，主要是因为他喂的球最舒服。和他打球让或者在一起看电影，讨论。这多数是姜文来组织的。几个月虽然比较简单的生活，却是难得的一些经历。

初到《天地英雄》剧组，在为每位演员定装时，我大概有20、30套戏服，真是足足了过了把唐朝美女的瘾。等到了今天实拍时，身处在茫茫沙漠，何导却为我挑了一件最朴素的戏服，理由是比较符合环境，虽然没能再感受一回，我相信何导选择。
2002 年10月22日
《天地英雄》的已经拍摄了一段时间。我发现每个人都在适应了这里的生活。日本演员中井贵一原本是生活很有规律，很有情调的人。刚到剧组时，他还会一早起来，听着音乐，品着茶，等待着有人来叫他开始一天的工作。自从来到《天地英雄》的剧组这一规律被彻底打破了。更巧的是这十几天没有他的戏，我看他都快崩溃了。
2002 年10月23日
茫茫的戈壁一望无际，真是什么都没有就趁石头。我们也学会了自娱自乐，还自创了很多游戏。比如，那随便找几个道具用得刀，或布景用地木板什么的，当作障碍物插在沙子上，在几米开外处，用石子打障碍物，当然是谁打倒得多谁就赢了。估计，再过几天我就成了飞石高手了。
2002 年10月27日
今天是我和姜老师的第一场对手戏。他不像媒体传闻得那样「难对付」，恰恰相反，他在拍摄的时候很投入，很认真，感染着在场的每一个人。一天的拍摄结束了，我不但觉得没有什么可怕，而且配合得很好。私下里，姜老师是个嚼字高手，所以每次谈话一定要像明白自己说的话，不然就要被他绕进去了。
2002 年11月6日
听说昨天中井和往常一样起了个大早，听着音乐，喝着茶。可是过了很久不见有人来车里叫他拍戏，他就叫翻译去问问，等翻译回来告诉他，剧组一早就走了。顿时，傻眼。那怎么办？在茫茫戈壁上，到那追啊？还是中井有经验，回头对翻译说：「等。」等大家后来，他主动问导演，为什么剧组走了没人来叫他？当然，答案很简单——没有你得戏就没叫你了。我们对此事早就习惯也了，只是中井还需要些时间适应。
2002 年11月12日
来到《天地英雄》剧组已经一个月了，虽然天气越来越冷，环境还是一样艰苦，可是我感到很满足。以前没有太多的休息，而到了新疆，来到了沙漠，远离了城市喧嚣，人就变得很单纯，有我的戏时，就认真地拍；不拍戏时，就看看书，听听音乐，睡睡觉，吃吃东西，真的体会到了什么叫放松，同时，我的心境也平和许多。
2002 年11月15日
刚来时就听说剧组我留了一匹漂亮的小白马，可一到拍摄才发现没人敢碰我那匹马。好奇怪？一问看马的老乡才知道那是一匹野马，根本没驯过的，也就没人敢骑了。我问导演为什么把这匹马给我？他说，因为剧里的主演除了我都是糙老爷们，我是最漂亮的，所以我的马也应该是最漂亮的。哎，都是漂亮热的祸。

剛來時就聽說劇組我留了一匹漂亮的小白馬，可一到拍攝才發現沒人敢碰我那匹馬。好奇怪？一問看馬的老鄉才知道那是一匹野馬，根本沒馴過的，也就沒人敢騎了。我問導演為什麼把這匹馬給我？他說，因為劇裏的主演除了我都是糙老爺們，我是最漂亮的，所以我的馬也應該是最漂亮的。哎，都是漂亮熱的禍。
Synopsis of [Warriors of Heaven and Earth]
In the tradition of Akira Kurosawa's "Seven Samurai", "Warriors of Heaven & Earth" weaves a thread of battle, comradeship and honor.
Set in the ferocious Gobi Desert, the story follows two protagonists, Lieutenant Li (Jiang Wen) and Japanese emissary Lai Xi (Nakai Kiichi)
- both first-class warriors and master swordsmen. After decades of
service to the Chinese Emperor, Lai Xi longs to return to Japan, but is
instead sent to the West to chase wanted criminals. His only passport
back to Japan is to capture and execute Lieutenant Li, a renegade
soldier wanted for leading a violent mutiny when he refused orders to
kill female and child prisoners.
Li and Lai Xi battle, but finally agree to delay their final personal
fight until the caravan carrying Wen Zhu and a Buddhist monk is
brought to safety. The monk, however, is carrying a sacred and powerful
pagoda that attracts the attention of the region's ruthless overlord,
Master An (Wang Xueqi). Lai Xi and Lt. Li, accompanied by Li's former
posse of soldiers, who have forsaken their peaceful new lives to
return to his side, must face the cruelty of the desert, the region's
barbaric bandits and the brutality of the overlord's men before they can
finally face one another.

Director He Ping told me that he was preparing to film a movie by the
name
[Heroes of Heaven & Earth]. The script revealed that it was a male
dominated
film. Personally, I have like He Ping's productions and I also know
that I
will get to work with Jiang Wen in this movie. It is a privilege to
me to
work with Jiang Wen. The combination of a good team can spark off
wonderful
results, that's why I accepted the offer. I look forward to working
with
such a great team and I believe this will be a great production.

I received the script today and as I read, I was captivated. The
story
embodies heroic and romantic colours. My role is a teenager. Director
He
made some adjustments to my role and made her the daughter of a
general,
strong but gentle. I do not like repeat roles, I like challenges. To
be able
to stay at the isolated filming locations for months would also be a
good
training ground for me. I have decided to join the crew.

I arrived at Xinjiang. This team is entirely different from those I
have
worked before. The environment is extremely harsh, but no one has
been
beaten, instead, they have learnt to have fun in these harsh
conditions. As
there are no recreational activities, after a day's filming, the guys
would
go for soccer. The Japanese actor is an expert in tennis and many
enjoy
playing with him as he feeds the tennis ball to them very well.
Others would
be discussing about movies.These activities are mainly organised by
Jiang
Wen. Even though the days were simple, it was a meaningful
experience.

I have just joined the crew here. I have 20-30 costumes, like all the
past
Tang beauties. When I started filming today, in the midst of the
desert,
Director chose the simplest suit as it was most suitable to the
environment.

We have filmed for some days. I realised everyone are getting
accustomed to
the way of life here. The Japanese lived an orderly and sentimental
life.
When he first arrived, he would wake up in the morning, listen to
music
while sipping a cup of tea, waiting for the day to start.This
lifestyle has
been disrupted since he joined the team. Worst still,he has had no
filming
for the past 10 days. It must be driving him nuts.

In this isolated desert, there's nothing besides rocks. We have
learnt to
entertain ourselves and invented many games. For example, place the
props
like daggers and swords on the sand and throw stones at the props.
Whoever
who hits the props down would be the winner.I gather that in a few
days
time, I would be an expert at this.

Today is the first time I am working with Senior Jiang. He is not as
difficult as the media describes. in contrast, he is very serious
about his
work and he affects everyone. In a day's filming, I not only have no
fears,
i also enjoyed the cooperation.

Yesterday, Zhongjin (the Japanese actor) woke up early and as usual,
he was
listening to his music and sipping tea. However, after a long wait,
no one
came for him. His translator was sent to check and heard that the
crew has
left. In this desert, where do you head to chase the crew? Zhongjin
turned
to his translator and said, :"Wait". When everyone returned, he asked
the
Director why no one came for him. The answer was simple -- No one
came for
you as there were no scenes that would involve you. We have already
gotten
used to this, but Zhongjin still needs some time.

I have been here for a month. Even though it is getting colder and
the
environment is getting harsher, I feel very satisfied. In the past, I
did
not get to rest but when I got to Xinjiang, I am away from the noise
pollution of the city, I have been purified. When I have to film, I
would
pay attention to my work, but when I am not, I would read, listen to
music,
sleep and eat. I really experience what it means to relax and to have
a
peaceful life.

When I first arrived, I heard that I had a beautiful horse. When I
was going
to film the scene, I realised that no one has touched my horse. I
heard
that it was a wild horse and have not undergone training. That is why
no has
dares to ride on it. I asked the Director why he allocated the horse
to me.
He said because the rest of the artistes are all crude men, I am the
most
beautiful, that's why my horse also has to be most beautiful. Sigh,
beauty
is the cause for trouble!
